Howdy, I’m Andrew Maurer, a seasoned gunsmith specializing in building competition rifles for Precision Rifle Series (PRS) events. Not only do I craft these firearms, but I also often participate in PRS competitions. Having built competition rifles for over 12 years, my experience in this field has given me a thorough understanding of the sport and the intricate mechanics of firearms.
My passion for gunsmithing and competitive shooting runs deep. In my free time, I’m always tinkering with guns, trying out new parts and accessories, and testing out different calibers and loads to create the optimal firearm. Whether it’s working on my personal rifles or crafting custom rifles for clients, I take great pride in my work and strive for nothing but the best.
Outside of gunsmithing and competitive shooting, I’m also an experienced big game hunting guide in several states, including Iowa, South Dakota, and Arizona. I find it’s great fun being able to bring other enthusiasts out into the field to have a good time taking on the great creatures of the wild. It’s certainly a must-experience for any hunter, and I’m quite grateful I get to experience it so often. It also allows me to share my knowledge of the sport and the importance of responsible hunting practices.
I’m married to my wonderful wife and am a father, and I firmly believe in hard work and traditional values. My interests also extend to political science, especially in examining the impact of gun control policies on our society. Conducting this research helps me dissect the broader implications of firearms and their regulations, and I hope to help others gain a better understanding of the effect these regulations have on our country.
I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise with others in the community, especially with youth. That’s why I devote a significant amount of time to teaching rifle shooting to young people, ensuring that future generations develop a solid foundation in firearm safety and techniques. It’s also rewarding to be able to help them grow their skills and love for the sport so they may become the next generation of competitive shooters and hunters.
